The BOLYCEN Solar/USB-C Charging Grill Light for Outdoor Grill provides a surprisingly bright light to illuminate your grill at night or in low light conditions. This is great for home use on your deck or patio, but would be especially helpful when camping, tailgating, etc., where access to electricity is not available.The unit is very compact (smaller than I expected – see photo for size), yet the light output is impressive. See my photos of the amount of light that shines on the grill, even in the middle of the day.The battery can be charged by either the USB A to C cable provided or by the sun. The cable does not have an AC adapter, so you will need to provide that (or plug it in to a PC, Laptop, etc.). I will assume that with typical use (once or twice a week?) and even moderate exposure to sunlight, the solar panel should be able to keep the battery charged for normal usage (an hour or two).Installation is pretty simple with decent directions provided. The bracket easily mounts to your grill’s lid handle. The light unit then slides onto a clip to hold it securely in place. Removal of the light unit (for USB charging) is quick, with a press on the release tab and just sliding it off. The bracket remains in place on the handle.The light has an auto on/off feature so when you raise the grill lid, the light comes on and then shuts itself off when the lid is closed. Very handy feature. The light also has two settings, low and high. I will ONLY use the high (brightest) setting when grilling! I imagine the lower setting would be for ambiance or to prolong battery life.One thing to be aware of is the location of the handle on your grill’s lid. If it is mounted more than about 2” above the bottom of the lid, the light may not clear the edge of the lid when opened. See photos showing this location with a tape measure for reference.Overall, this is a great addition to my grill and will be helpful for those after dark grilling sessions.
